No citations were issued after an accident 9:18 p.m. July 23 at the intersection of 270th Avenue and Highway 34.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Rebecca Lea Miller, 40, of Osceola, driving a 2003 Ford east on Highway 34 was attempting to make a left turn to go north on 270th Avenue when Steven Norris Lazear, 69, of Chariton, driving a 2013 Volvo semi truck tried to pass her, claiming he didn’t see a turn signal, only break lights from Miller’s vehicle.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Miller’s vehicle and $10,000 to Lazear’s vehicle.

Leonard Dean Husted, 77, of Osceola, was cited for failure to yield upon entering through highway after an accident 7:21 a.m. July 26.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Ashley Brooke Musick, 27, of Chariton, driving a 2000 Chevy, was traveling east on Highway 34 when Husted, driving a 2002 Ford truck accelerated through the stop sign at the intersection of South Kossuth Street and Highway 34 claiming to not have seen Musick’s vehicle until he struck the passenger side of Musick’s vehicle.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Musick’s vehicle and $2,500 to Husted’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 12:35 p.m. July 26 at the intersection of Idaho Street and Highway 34.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Chad Michael Nold, 31, of Osceola, driving a 2009 John Deere Sprayer was waiting on the side on Highway 34 letting traffic pass before making a south turn onto Idaho Street, when Nold did turn south struck Bernardo Salazar Mozqueda, 48, of Murray, driving a 2004 Ford as he attempted to pass Nold.

Estimated damage was $1,500 to Mozqueda’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 9:50 p.m. July 27 on the 2500 blk of Highway 34.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Dylan John McDonald, 19, of Chariton, driving a 2001 Dodge truck eastbound on the 2500 blk of Highway 34 was crossed over the center lane as Tobi John Bailey, 25, of Osceola, driving a 2013 Toyota passed him and got over on the shoulder as far as he could but McDonald’s vehicle still struck the rear quarter of Bailey’s vehicle.

Estimated damage was $2,000 to Bailey’s vehicle and $1,000 to McDonald’s vehicle/.

No citations were issued after an accident 2:13 p.m. July 29 at the intersection of South Kossuth Street and Golfview Drive.

According to an Osceola Police report, Danial Anthony Terrell, 46, of Indianola, driving a 2014 Ford was southbound on South Kossuth Street and was turning east onto Golfview Drive when he lost control, jumped the curb and struck a light post.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to the lamp/light post and $5,000 to Terrell’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 1:20 p.m. July 30 at the intersection of McLane Street and Main Street.

According to an Osceola Police report, Deputy Samuel James Fotiadis, 28, of Osceola, was responding to a call driving a 2017 Dodge police vehicle with his lights on he went around traffic in the southbound and right turn lane of Main Street, as he turned right onto McLane Street his vehicle clipped the left front corner of Donald Marvin Waltz, 82, of Osceola, driving a 2012 Toyota.

Estimated damage was $3,500 to Waltz’s vehicle and $2,000 to Fotiadis’ vehicle.

Jacob Howard Crozier, 20, of Harvey was cited for failure to obey traffic control device after an accident 12:20 p.m. Aug. 1 at the intersection of Jeffrey’s Drive and Warren Avenue.

According to an Osceola Police report, Tara Kathleen Gartin, 54, of Ames, driving a 2011 Toyota, was traveling north on Warren Avenue and turned left onto Highway 34 while the traffic light was yellow when her vehicle was struck from the side by Crozier, driving a 2001 Chevy truck as he traveled eastbound on Highway 34 and continued on through the red light.

Estimated damage was $6,500 to Gartin’s vehicle and $2,500 to Crozier’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 3:24 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Interstate 35/ SW entrance ramp.

Robert Walter Reynoldson, 71, of Osceola, driving a 2015 BMW was waiting to turn eastbound onto Highway 34 from the Interstate 35/ SW loop, after inching forward to better see the traffic coming his vehicle was rear ended by Luis Alberto Ramos, 21, of Osceola, driving a 2007 Chevy after he thought Reynoldson was continuing onto Highway 34.

Estimated damage was $1,000 to Reynoldson’s vehicle.
