Phyllis Elaine Stump, 93, of Liberty died Monday, June 3, 2019, at Indianola Good Samaritan Center in Indianola.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 7, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola with the Rev. Sheldon Lorenson officiating. Open visitation will be Thursday, June 6, with family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery. Phyllis Elaine Stump, daughter of John Henry McKnight and Ethel Pauline (Depperman) McKnight, was born May 6, 1926, in Liberty in Clarke County. Phyllis lived most of her life in the Liberty area, except a few years in Des Moines.
On March 8, 1947, she married Marion Neal Stump in Leon.
Phyllis was a member of Liberty Lady’s Aid.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Mike (Ronda) Stump of St. Charles, Craig (Debbie) Stump of Osceola, Bryon (Catherine Schaff-Stump) Stump of Blairstown; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister Betty Downard of Osceola; sisters-in-law, Helen McKnight of Osceola and Lavina Stump of Woodward; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel McKnight; husband Neal Stump; sister Helen Day; and brothers, Glen, Earl, Dwight, Dale and Raymond McKnight.
