Marie Gail Ray, 53, of Osceola, formerly of Marshalltown, died Friday, May 17, 2019, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
A celebration of life was 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Faith Fellowship Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Sheldon Lorenson officiating. Memorial donations can be made to Faith Fellowship Evangelical Free Church in Osceola.
Marie, daughter of Jack and Anna Ray (Pelcman), was born March 19, 1966, in Marshalltown. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1985. After receiving training as a nurse, she worked as a CNA at various nursing homes around the Marshalltown area, including the Iowa Veterans Home and Villa Del Sol.
She was a member at Faith Fellowship Evangelical Free Church in Osceola.
Marie is survived by her partner of 15 years, Wade Niebur of Osceola; children, Linsey Kapayou of Osceola, Derrick Kapayou of Ames and Bradley Ray; stepdaughter Ragan (Rudy) Navarrete of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; grandchildren, Evan Delgado, Elena Delgado and Ember Kapayou; brothers, Wayne Ray of Marshalltown, Joe (Barbara) Ray of Riverton, Utah and Perry (Donna) Ray of Red Oak; in-laws, Don and Karen Niebur of Albia; and numerous friends.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Anna Ray, and cat Snowball.
