Alfred Junior Mason, 87, of Osceola died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola with the Rev. Mike Albert officiating. Visitation with family present was from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, prior to services. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to EveryStep Hospice in Osceola. Alfred Junior Mason, son of Urban Stanford Mason and Clara (Hagen) Mason, was born Oct. 10, 1931, in Osceola. Junior graduated from Ponca Military Academy in Ponca, Oklahoma, where he qualified as a sharpshooter with the National Rifle Association team. He served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard and four years in the U.S. Air Force.
On Nov. 28, 1958, he married Bessie Irene Stark in Osceola. They lived 33 years in Burbank, California, before moving to Hewitt, Texas, in 1992 and returning to Osceola in 2001. Junior worked in real estate and title insurance for California Land and Title and World Title Company.
Junior is survived by his sister-in-law Louise Mason of Osceola; nephews, Dennis (Donna) Mason of Sanford, North Carolina, Dan Martley of Davenport and Bob (Sandy) Mason of Osceola; nieces, Debra (Mark) Yorba of Mentone, California, Doug (Anita) Weld, Candice (Tom) Chrestman, Dixie (Keith) Johnson, Debbie Stressner and Terri Stressner; great-nieces and -nephews, Jennifer, Gary, Katie, Jessica, Nichole, Bobby, Matt, Dustin, Joe and Tiffany; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Urban and Clara Mason; wife Bessie and siblings, Robert Mason, Marcella Stressner, Vivian Sidebottom and Doris Weld.
