Vicki Diane Russell, 71, of Osceola died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola with the Rev. Chuck DeVos officiating. Lunch followed the services at Osceola United Methodist Church, prior to going to Booneville. Graveside services were 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Booneville Cemetery in Booneville. Family will meet at Booneville United Methodist Church for fellowship and refreshments following the graveside. Visitation was one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Vicki Diane Russell, daughter of Glenn Willis Forret and Beverly June (Dippold) Forret, was born Jan. 21, 1948, in Des Moines. Vicki grew up in Bonneville and graduated from Van Meter High School. She went to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, and graduated with a degree in elementary education. Vicki taught in Murray, Central Decatur and Osceola school systems.
On Sept. 27, 1992, she married Ray Byron Russell in Osceola.
Vicki was raised in Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter.
Vicki is survived by her husband Ray Russell of Osceola; sisters, Shirley (Carl) Lyons of Van Meter, Eileen (Dwight) Brown of Van Meter, Debra (Morris) Jones of Waukee and Jean Johnson of West Des Moines; nephews and nieces, Derek (Amy) Perkey, Janel (Paul) Nielson, Blair (Thadee) Zachariasen, Eric (Lindsey Tygart-Brown) Brown and Ashley Johnson; great-nieces, Jordan Christensen, Kennedy Perkey and Emma Perkey; stepnephews, Mike Brown, David Brown and Jon Lyons; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Beverly Forret and sister Glenda Gail Forret.
