Accident report

No citations were issued after an accident 9 a.m. Jan. 16 on the 1300 blk of 130th Avenue.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Kathleen Ray Johnson, 63, of Murray, driving a 2012 Nissan was traveling north on 130th Avenue when her passenger side wheels went through snow on the roadway causing the vehicle to be pulled into the ditch, roll and land on its top.

Estimated damage was $8,000 to Johnson’s vehicle.

May Kathern Amaya, 41, of Des Moines was cited for improper or erratic lane change after an accident 7:30 a.m. Jan. 17 on Interstate 35.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Brett James Kyle, 39, of Kansas, driving a 2010 GMC truck was northbound on the outside lane being passed by Amaya, driving a 2003 Nissan northbound in the inside lane. When Amaya entered the outside lane in front of Kyle her vehicle struck the front drivers side bumper of Kyle’s vehicle causing Kyle to lose control and his vehicle to roll several times, coming to rest on its wheels in the east ditch.

Estimated damage was $500 to Kyle’s vehicle and $8,000 to Amaya’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 6:45 p.m. Jan. 17 on North Main Street.

According to an Osceola Police report, Nathan Ray VanLoon, 45, of Osceola, driving a 2018 Jeep was northbound on North Main Street when a deer entered the roadway from the west ditch and VanLoon struck the deer causing damage to the hood, fender and bumper of his vehicle.

Estimated damage was $1,500 to VanLoon’s vehicle.
