Accidents

No citations were issued after an accident 4:06 p.m. Nov. 20 on 198th Avenue.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Charety Ann Bowers, 41, of Murray, driving a 2004 Pontiac was traveling north on 108th Ave. when Richard Dean Hays, 75, of Murray, driving a 2015 school bus was backing up on 108th Ave. and struck Bowers’ vehicle after she had swerved to try and avoid a collision.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Bowers’ vehicle and $2,500 to Hays’ vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 5 p.m. Nov. 27 on Scott Street.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Alexander Enrique Dubon, 48, of Woodburn, driving a 2010 GMC truck lost control of the vehicle on ice at the bottom of a hill and came to rest in the ditch.

Estimated damage was $1,500 to Dubon’s vehicle.

Kevin Edward Connelly, 61, of Lorimor, was charged with operating while intoxicated, second-offense after an accident 12:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at the 1900 blk of 140th Avenue.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Connelly turned onto 140th Ave. too fast for the road conditions and slid into a stop sign and struck a culvert before coming to rest in the ditch. Beer cans were found in the vehicle and a deputy performed a Standardized Field Sobriety Test on Connelly which he failed.

Estimated damage was $100 to the stop sign and $500 to Connelly’s vehicle.

Brian Eugene Moffitt, 39, of Marengo, was cited for failure to maintain control, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to have a valid driver’s license after an accident 9:28 p.m. Dec. 3 on the e100 blk of South Park Street.

According to an Osceola Police report, Moffitt, driving a 2002 Trail Blazer belonging to Margaret Siegwarth, ran into a legally parked 2000 Jeep then left the scene with the Trail Blazer’s bumper on the ground by the Jeep. Officers located Moffitt and had Seigwarth come and she said Moffitt did have permission to use her vehicle.

Estimated damage was $2,000 to the 2000 Jeep and $3,000 to Seigwarth’s vehicle.
