Accidents

Juan Raul Aquirre Barajas, 19, of Osceola, was cited for improper lane change and no valid diver’s license after an accident 3 p.m. Nov. 19 on Highway 34 near the intersection of Highway 69.

According to an Osceola Police report, Barajas, driving a 2009 Chevy, was eastbound on Highway 34 approaching the intersection of Highway 69 and entered the turn lane west of the Casey’s, where a vehicle was stopped at a red light west of the enterance. As Barajas entered the turn lane, the owner of the stopped vehicle waved for Hunter Ray Van Loon, 23, of Garden Grove, driving a 2004 Chevy, to exit the Casey’s parking lot and turn left onto Highway 34 going west. Barajas’ vehicle then collided with Van Loon’s vehicle.

Estimated damages were $3,000 to Van Loon’s vehicle and $2,000 to Barajas’ vehicle.

No citaions were issued after an accident 10 a.m. Nov. 21 on Highway 69.

According to an Osceola Police report, Bonnie Lucille Sanders, 64, of Osceola, driving a 2004 Chevy, exited the Chat Mobility parking lot and attempted to turn left onto Highway 69 when her vehicle collided with the rear passenger side of Harold Dean Robb Jr., 32, of Lorimor, driving a 2003 Saturn southbound on Highway 69.

Estimated damages were $1,000 to Robb’s vehicle and $2,000 to Sanders’ vehicel.

No citations were issued after an accident 11:20 a.m. Nov. 21 at 1706 Jeffreys Dr.

According to an Osceola Police report, Ali Muhamud Jama, 42, of Minnesota, driving a 2004 Freightliner Semi, backed into a gas pump, knocking it over, then pulled forward and struck a traffic pillar.

Estimated damages were $10,000 to the Casey’s General Store gas pump and pillar and $1,000 to Jama’s vehicle.
