Gene L. Marvin, 79, of Lewisville, Texas, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, in his home.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, Texas. Interment followed in Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville, Texas. The family received friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Online condolences may be left at www.mulkeymason.com.
Gene, son of Charles William Marvin Sr. and Eva Eulha Neagle Marvin, was born April 3, 1939, in Osceola. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1957, followed by a technical degree from Gale Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
On Nov. 1, 1959, Gene married Patricia A. DeLong in Osceola. Gene was a machinist for Eagle Iron Works in Des Moines for 24 years. After moving to Texas, he was a machinist for 10 years at Frito Lay.
Gene was a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, Texas.
Gene is survived by his wife Patricia; son Todd E. (Sue L.) Marvin; daughter Ann R. Marvin Benke Sherer; grandchildren, Lynsey (Jayson), Ryan, Nicholas (Virginia), Nathan and Vivien; great-grandchild Jaycob; brother Richard Dale (Sharon) Marvin; sister-in-law JoAnn Marvin; several nieces and nephews and several other family members.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
