Gayle Brenizer, 68, of Osceola died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at Greater Regional Hospice Home-HCI in Creston.
No public services will be scheduled. Memorials are to the family of Gayle Brenizer. Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, in Creston is assisting with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.
Martha Gayle Brenizer, daughter of Derias Wayne Bowers and Cecelia Yvonne (Walker) Bowers, was born July 12, 1950, in Crane, Texas. Gayle graduated from Lamoni High School.
Gayle married Eldon Wayne Brenizer in Davis City. They settled in Davis City, where she worked as a homemaker and mother. They were later divorced. Gayle began working at Decatur County Treasurer’s office, and also returned to college at Graceland University in Lamoni, where she later graduated. After college, Gayle began working at Area Agency for Aging as a case manager.
Gayle moved to Independence, Missouri, to care for her father. She later continued her career of caring for the aging, where she became a H.U.D. certified housing specialist for the next several years, and also spent some time working for United Way. During her career, she was active in supporting veterans by finding them necessary housing and other ways. She returned to live near family in Osceola, and continued to work with the elderly.
Gayle is survived by her children, Monique Brenizer (significant other April Guerrero) of Creston, Stefanie (Chad) Decker of Murray, Eldon Brenizer Jr. of Osceola and Nathan (Tara) Brenizer of Independence, Missouri; brothers, Wayne (Jan) Bowers of Lamoni and Dwight Bowers of Creston; grandchildren, Wyatt Schamp (Tiffany McBride) of Osceola, Karissa (Zach) Rowland of Murray, Rebecca Decker and Emma Decker, both of Murray, and Montana Cash, Annabelle Cash, Baylee Walker and Breauna Walker, all of Independence, Missouri; and great-grandchildren, Weston McBride and Ella Rose Rowland.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Dyann Bowers.
