Accident reports

No citations were issued after an accident 3:49 p.m. Sept. 20 northbound on Interstate 35.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff report, Mark Allen Hall, 49, of Creston, driving a 1985 International dump truck, owned by Willett Farm Trucking Inc. of Afton, noticed the vehicle suffered a mechanical failure before he lost control and entered the east ditch, striking a tree and spilling diesel fuel.

Hall was transported to Clarke County Hospital for minor injuries. The fire department applied a chemical binding agent to the spilled fuel.

Estimated damage was $25,000 to Hall’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 12:45 p.m. Friday in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

According to an Osceola Police report, Lori Jeanette Friday, 56, of Murray, driving a 2010 Chevy, was backing out of a parking spot at the same time that Ketalben Pragnesh Patel, 50, of Washington, driving a 2017 Chrysler, was backing out in the spot across from Friday and the vehicles collided.

Estimated damages were $3,500 to Friday’s vehicle and $750 to Patel’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 1:10 a.m. Sunday on Highway 69.

According to an Osceola Police report, Hunter James Howsden, 20, of Weldon, driving a 2015 Hyundai, was northbound on Highway 69 and was unable to avoid striking a deer in the roadway.

Estimated damage was $4,000 to Howsden’s vehicle.
