The Murray FFA competed at the South Central Career Development Event Day at the Clarke County Fairgrounds on Sept. 18.
Thirty members attended and competed in the following events: Tyson Nall and Christian Nevarez in Agronomy; Kegan Johnston, Colton Hiatt, Hannah Paschke, Abbe Baumfalk, Savannah Mann, Brycen Wookey, Avery Flaherty in Vet Science; Kendra Boles in Advanced Horse Judging; Chloe Church, Jace Rodecker, Colton Siefkas in Novice Horse Judging; Bailey Frederick in Advanced Livestock Judging; Britta Callstrom, Hailey Chew, Ally Waske, Bre Klein, Kayla Wookey, Cooper Tracy, Jimmy Graham, Brooke Shannon in Dairy Foods Judging; Kinzee Eggers, Daniel Little, Fisher Richman, Cole Lecy, Emma Decker, Chance Lecy, Katy Gibbs, Christina Arends in Soil Judging.
Some highlights from the competitions were these top placings: Kendra Boles 7th place individual; 5th and 7th place Dairy Foods Judging teams; Cooper Tracy 6th place individual; 5th and 9th place Soil Judging Teams.
Up next for the Murray FFA is fruit, meat, cheese, candy and butterbraid sales Sept. 25-Oct. 15. Then members from the chapter will head for Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention Oct. 23-27.
