May Police activity report

May found us rather busy. One of the highlights was an active shooter training that we had at the middle school. While this is something we hope we never deal with it is something we train for. We have other similar trainings coming in the future.

We dealt with a detour for a few days on Highway 69 as well as Shaw and Fillmore, had a pedestrian intentionally struck by a vehicle in the Meadows and a personal injury accident on Warren Avenue near Osceola Foods. Worked with the FD on an RV fire at Lakeside, a first for any of us, and assisted a Wisconsin department in locating a resident of ours regarding threats made to his family up there.

I spoke to the Rotary Club. Sadly, we arrested 3 people in one night for OWI.

Statistically, officers fielded 404 calls for service. This is an increase and the weather has everything to do it. Officers also initiated 141 contacts which again is an increase with the weather playing a large part.

Officers investigated 9 accidents, issued 48 citations, 35 written warnings and 34 verbal warnings. Officers arrested 53 people during the month of May.
