‘Iowa Outdoors’ season 8 to premiere on IPTV

JOHNSTON - Iowa Public Television’s “Iowa Outdoors” returns for its eighth season with more features than ever before. Join hosts Scott Siepker and Kellie Kramer as they travel around Iowa learning about outdoor recreation, environmental issues, conservation initiatives and Iowa’s natural resources. Season 8 premieres Wednesday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m.

“Iowa Outdoors” provides in-depth explorations of our state’s natural environments and the Iowans who enjoy them. This season features 10 new episodes filled with adventures from the Missouri River to the Mississippi River, including outdoor activities, conservation, nature photography and a variety of Iowa trails featured in the program’s Trail-in-a-Minute segment. New this season, each episode will also highlight an outdoor area or state park from above through drone videography.

“‘Iowa Outdoors’ brings viewers stories of people, places and adventure, from border to border, from water to land to the sky,” said executive producer Andrew Batt. “We bring you the beauty of Iowa with more features than ever before.”

In the season premiere, skim the lakes near Waterloo with the legendary Waterhawks ski team, fly above Lake Okoboji alongside a drone photographer and experience innovative efforts to bring trout from the stream to the classroom. Following the May 2 premiere, viewers can see this episode again Saturday, May 5 at 9 a.m.

New episodes of "Iowa Outdoors" will air weekly Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m. For a complete program schedule and to watch full episodes, visit Iptv.org/IowaOutdoors.
