Clarke tennis takes care of Albia

Clarke tennis took on Albia Thursday and ended the day with a clean sweep, winning all nine matches on both the boys at Albia and the girls side.

The Lady Indians only lost 10 games in 8 matches to complete the sweep of the Albia girls tennis team at home in Osceola.

Sydney Sickels took her No. 1 singles match 8-1 while Megan Linskens, Brittany Beckett and Deseree Stubbe all bageled their opponents at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

CeJay Blakely pulled out an 8-5 victory at No. 5 singles while Meredyth Olson looked impressive in an 8-1 win at No. 6.

Sickels and Linskens worked their way to an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles over their Albia foes.

Stubbe and Blakely posted an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles and Beckett and Olson won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.

Boys make quick work of Albia

ALBIA – A 9-0 sweep is how the Clarke boys picked up its first team win of the season.

Sam Reynoldson picked up an 8-0 win at No. 1 singles while his doubles partner, Zachary Smith scored an 8-1 win before the duo worked their way to an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, their second doubles win of the season.

Brandon Chavez earned an 8-1 win at No. 3 singles, while Nathan Porter, TJ Woods and Evan Hagen all took care of business at the end of the singles ladder.

Chavez and Porter cleaned up an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles while Woods and Hagen polished up an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
