Evelyn Roberta Delk Smith, 82, of Granbury, Texas, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018, at a skilled nursing facility in Plano, Texas, due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
She was born June 18, 1935, in Miles City, Montana, and then was adopted by her loving father, Ira Leslie Delk in Weldon. She grew up on a farm in Iowa, and in 1972, relocated to Texas with her then husband, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force, where she spent the next 46 years of her life. Evelyn was a precious, loving, kind heart, who greeted everyone with a smile.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Vick Smith of Granbury, Texas, and Rene Clark and husband Steve of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Jamie Perea and husband Greg of Hill AFB, Utah; Charles Wriggle of Weatherford, Texas; and Zeke Robinson of Granbury, Texas; six great-grandchildren and numerous family members and friends.
Evelyn has donated her body to the Willed Body Program at UT Southwestern Center. The family asks in lieu of flowers, that a donation be made to this organization in her name. A service will be held at a later date.
