Joseph Tyler Johnson, 50, of Orient, was cited for failure to maintain control after an accident 7:20 p.m. March 2 at the intersection on Highway 34 and Warren Avenue.

According to an Osceola Police report, Maddison Marie Smith, 18, of Saint Charles, driving a 2007 Chrysler, was stopped at a red light heading east on Highway 34 when Johnson, driving 2015 Chevy, struck the rear of Smith’s vehicle.

Both drivers were taken to Clarke County Hospital after complaining of pain.

Estimated damages were $3,000 to Smith’s vehicle and $3,000 to Johnson’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 10:55 a.m. March 5 in the Fareway parking lot.

According to an Osceola Police report, David Michael Bemis, 52, of Osceola, driving a 2013 Hyundai, was stopped in the parking lot to let out a passenger when Terry Gene Stogdill, 71, of Osceola, driving a 1996 Ford, backed out of his parking space and struck Bemis’ vehicle on the front drivers side.

Estimated damages were $1,000 to Bemis’ vehicle and $50 to Stogdill’s vehicle.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff report, Bonnie Sue Clayton, 57, of New Mexico, driving a 2007 GMC truck, was headed north on Interstate 35 when she hit an icy patch and lost control. Clayton’s vehicle crossed the median, the southbound lanes and rolled over one time, coming to rest on its wheels in the west ditch at exit 29.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Clayton’s vehicle.

Dylan J Paul Roozeboom, 24, of Weldon, driving a 2008 Dodge truck, was northbound on Interstate 35 when conditions turned the road icy and Roozeboom’s vehicle lost traction. The vehicle entered the east ditch and rolled once, then came to rest on the right side of the vehicle.

Estimated damage was $12,000 Roozeboom’s vehicle.

According to an Osceola Police report, Alexandro Fabian Torres, 36, of Osceola, driving a 2008 Chrysler, backed out of his parking spot and struck an unoccupied, legally parked 2015 Ford.

Estimated damages were $2,000 to the 2015 Ford and $100 to Torres’ vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 12:05 a.m. March 8 at the intersection of North Fillmore and West Shaw streets.

According to an Osceola Police report, Charles Dean DeVos, 57, of Osceola, driving a 1999 Ford van, was entering Fillmore Street form a private drive, and when he pulled out onto Fillmore Street, DeVos’ vehicle was struck on the rear wheel assembly by Houston Nathaniel Archer, 18, of Osceola, driving a 2009 Ford, as he was traveling east on Shaw Street.

Estimated damages were $1,100 to DeVos’ vehicle and $2,000 to Archer’s vehicle.

According to an Osceola Police report, Traci Mae Earls, 40, of Osceola, driving a 2013 Buick, was backing out of a parking stall into a one way roadway when her vehicle was struck by Amanuel Alex Fry, 18, of Osceola, driving a 1998 Buick, as he backed out of an adjoining parking lot and turned the wrong way down the one way road. Fry then left the scene, continuing to travel the wrong direction down the one way road.

Officers watched video footage and found Fry at his residence.

Estimated damages were $500 to Earls’ vehicle and $50 to Fry’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 8:45 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of North Main and Shaw streets.

According to an Osceola Police report, Richard Bruce Spencer, 61, of Osceola, driving a 1995 Chevy, was northbound on Main Street when his vehicle was struck on the rear passenger’s side by Robert Lee Tidman, 35, of Osceola, driving a 2015 International. Tidman was stopped at the stop sign on Shaw Street and pulled out onto Main Street as Spencer’s vehicle was passing.

Estimated damages were $3,000 to Spencer’s vehicle and $500 to Tidman’s vehicle.

According to an Osceola Police report, Randy Dean Vanderflute, 56, of Leon, driving a 1999 Chevy truck, was eastbound on Clay Street when he lost control of the vehicle due to slush on the road while going around a curve and left the roadway striking a cluster of trees on the north side of the road.

Estimated damage was $1,500 to Vanderflute’s vehicle.
