Donna Marie Sloan, 68, of Osceola died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at Grande JiVante in Ackley.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Murray Cemetery with the Rev. Al Adams officiating. Interment was in Murray Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to her family. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.
Donna Marie Sloan, daughter of Richard Wesley Sloan and Mabel Irene (Wolfe) Sloan, was born July 13, 1949, in Osceola. Donna received her education in Osceola, and graduated from Osceola High School in 1967. She later attended Southwestern Community College.
Donna spent many years working as an administrative secretary, at a temp agency in Des Moines and for nearly 14 years as a driver for Southern Iowa Trolley.
Donna played the organ at First Christian Church for nearly 20 years. She worked with various choirs over the years, Celebration Brass and Melody Makers in New Virginia.
Donna is survived by her son Brian (Josie) West of Des Moines; grandchildren, Brittany Ann West, Patricia (Justin) Lee and Dominique Johnston; great-grandchildren, Joshua Lee, Harleigh Lee and Willabelle Lee; sisters, Mary Schwartz of Kansas City, Missouri, and Joanne (Larry) Strubhar of Marion; nephew Jeffrey Schwartz; great-niece Brandina Klein of Marion; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Wesley Sloan and Mabel Irene Wolfe Sloan; sister Barbara Jean Sloan; brother-in-law Lou Schwartz; niece Linda Klein and great-grandson Damon Ivey-Johnston.
