Near perfection

Clarke's Bucy rolls a 299

KNOXVILLE — Brock Bucy was oh so close to the first 300 game in the history of Clarke bowling.

Bucy bowled nothing but strikes (11 consecutively) into the 10th frame, and bowled two strikes to start the 10th before leaving the 10th pin as the lone standing pin. A stubborn pin standing. His 299 game one score against Knoxville now stands as the best score in Clarke bowling history for one game. He bowled a 183 in the second game to roll a 482.

Clarke's boys bowled a 2,694, but still lost despite the outstanding team score as Knoxville finished with 2.723, just 29 pins ahead on Jan. 18.

Bucy was far from the lone Clarke bowler satisfied with the performance in Knoxville, despite a loss to their blazing hosts.

The Clarke girls edged Knoxville by 44 pins, 2,099 to 2,044, led by Kacie Schieler's 335 series.
