Bair's redemption

ADEL — Jon Bair had been handed two losses already by Red Oak's Carter Maynes in the past, but got his revenge with an outstanding performance in a 6-5 decision in the final at Saturday's ADM Tiger Invitational.

Bair also won by 11-8 decision over Dallas Center-Grimes' Ty Chambers in the semis and pinned Jacob Macvey of Nevada to start his day.

"He wrestled really well," coach Brian Reece said about his 170 pound senior. "He did a nice job in being solid at all positions and he’s starting to ... more and more on his offense, get set up.”

Bair picked up a takedown in the final seconds of his match with Chambers, which encouraged Reece.

“That’s what we preach is to stay on the offense, usually if you try and protect a lead, you’re going to lose the lead," Reece said.

Riley Domina picked up third place with his 3-1 day, which included a 12-4 decision in his favor, he was then pinned, followed that with a 14-2 major decision win and finally a 15-10 decision over DCG's Trevon Wells for third.

“He wrestled pretty well," Reece said. "His match in the semis was not his best match, but the rest of the way he wrestled pretty well. He’s starting to improve really well from his feet and score pretty well from that position."

Parker Hardy followed a strong week with a sixth place performance Saturday at 126 pounds after picking up one win by fall.

Coel Reece won one match by 11-5 decision.

Reece wants more consistency like he witnesses from Hardy in the week before, and knows what he's capable of when filled to the brim with confidence.
Samuel Zaragoza-Rosales is also back in action as of late for the Indians, competing at 195 pounds.

“He helps us out, he won some good matches last week," Reece said. "He had a tougher time this week but that’s going to happen. We’re really excited to have him out.”
