The coaches from both the Creston/Orient-Macksburg and Clarke bowling teams teased one another that the two squads always split between the boys and girls in head-to-head competition.

That was the case again, as the Indian boys defeated the Panthers 2,627 pins to 2,178 to stay undefeated.

The boys were led by 400-plus series’ from Brock Bucy (447) and TJ Woods (411).

“Ryan Bobolz steped up, senior first year out for bowling. Shoots a 145 and 197, three pins short of a 200,” coach Dale Helgevold said.

“The boys held their own and had some good games in there.”

The Creston/O-M bowling girls handed the Clarke girls their first loss of the season 2,357 pins to 2,133.

Layla Carney bowled a 320 series in her first varsity action of her career, but the Indians girls had some lower individual scores than usual.

“Unfortunately we were at a disadvantage dsown 258 pins going into Baker,” Helgevold said. “We had some individual games that were down.”
