No citations were issued after an accident 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, on Robin Street.

Derick John Ziola, 27, of West Des Moines was driving a 2008 Lincoln south on Robin Street when a deer ran in front of him. Ziola said he slammed the breaks too hard and lost control of the car.

Damage estimate is $5,000.

No citations were issued after an accident 1:29 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, on East First Street.

William Charles Arnold, 69, of Murray was driving a 2001 Chevrolet on E. First St. when he crossed the center of the road and struck a legally parked 1983 Ford. Mr. Arnold seemed to be suffering from a medical condition making it difficult for him to drive. Deputies asked Arnold to seek medical attention and have himself evaluated to make sure it was safe for him to drive.

Damage estimate is $2,000 to Arnold’s car and $2,000 to the parked vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 10:34 a.m. Sunday, Oct 1, on US 69.

Brandon Adam FIelds, 39, of Altoona was driving a 2014 CHevrolet south in the 2400 block of Highway 69 when he suffered a medical problem, passed out and drove into the ditch. Fields said he had taken his medicine for the day.

Witnesses said Fields was driving all over the road, nearly striking a bridge, before leaving the roadway. He was advised to seek medical attention.

Damage estimate is $2,000.

No citations were issued after an accident 6:54 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the 38.5 mile marker on Interstate 35.

Chance Lyman Shuldt, 24, of Osceola was driving a 2012 Chevrolet south on I-35 when he lost control of his vehicle due to heavy rain and struck a pole.

Damage estimates are $5,000 to Shuldt’s vehicle and $150 to the sign post.
