CORYDON — Clarke’s girls cross country squad sported three top 15 finishers in a field of 81 and the Clarke boys finished 12th out of 18 squads with strong showings from the top at Thursday’s meet in Wayne.

Kylie Shields topped the field for the Clarke girls with her eighth-place finish, as Chelsea Selsor and Katie Donaldson earned 14th and 15th respectively.

“Tori and Rebecca (Van Buren) both ran really well too. I’m very pleased,” coach Kayleen McCann said.

On the boys side, Timber Kent’s 36th-place finish was tops for Clarke.

“Matt Sickels is a freshman and he did really well for us,” McCann said. “And Wyatt (Hewlett) came through.

“They were excited and I was happy and really I was happy with the way everyone ran,” McCann said. “It was good to run a meet to see some things practice didn’t tell you.”
