Osceola FFA Livestock Team places at state

Saturday, August 26th the Osceola Big Chief FFA Chapter had a team participate in the State Livestock Judging. The members included Carter Wilken, Colby WIlken, Devin DeVore, and Nathan Manternach. The FFA Livestock Evaluation Career Development Event provides an opportunity for FFA members to display their agricultural knowledge and skills in the area of Livestock Evaluation. Activities included: placing breeding and market classes of beef, swine, sheep and goats; keep/cull and oral reasons classes; and a general knowledge test. There were 152 members participating from 43 chapters. Devin DeVore placed 9th overall as an individual. Nathan Manternach received 2nd overall with his sheep placings. The team received 7th overall and received a gold rating. They had a lot of fun and did a great job represent their Chapter. They are excited to attend again in the future.
