Accidents

Frank Henry Thacker, 20, of Murray, was cited for failure to maintain control 11:17 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at the intersection of Kansas Street and Kendall Street.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Thacker, driving a 2000 Dodge south on Kendall Street lost control on the gravel and went into the ditch on the west side of the road.

Damage estimate is $2,000.

No citiations were issued after an accident 7:39 a.m. Thursday, June 29, in the 2300 block of Clover Street.

Annette Marie Lankford, 46, of Weldon was driving a 2004 Kia west on Clover Street when a deer entered the roadway. Lankford swerved to avoid the deer, went into the ditch and roller her vehicle.

Lankford was transported to Clarke County Hospital by ground ambulance.

Damage estimate is $4,500.

No citations were issued after an accident 9:35 a.m. Monday, July 3, in the 100 block of West McLane Street.

Christine Ann Wilhelm, 54, of Woodburn, driving a 2003 Chrysler, was turning onto Highway 34 from a parking lot when she struck the rear of a 2007 Ford stopped at a red light, driven by Melissa Ann Lee, 46, of Van Wert.

Damages estimates are $750 to Wilhelm’s vehicle and $500 to Lee’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 6:33 p.m. Monday, July 3, at North Main Street and East Ayers Street.

Wililiam David Jones, 57, of Osceola, driving a 2001 Chrysler, stopped at a stop son on West Ayers Street intending to cross North Main Street when he pulled out in front of Michael John Leach, 39, from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, driving a 2006 Honda north on North Main Street. Jones said he did not see Leach’s vehicle.

Damage estimates are $1,000 to Jones’ vehicle and $1,000 to Leach’s vehicle.

Kathryn Ann Patterson, 32, of New Virginia was cited for failing to yield upon entering a thru highway after an accident 7:05 a.m. Friday, July 7, at the Four Corners.

Patterson was driving a 2001 Buick south on Highway 69, approaching the Highway 34 intersection. She saw the light turn yellow but worried the car behind her was going to rearend her. She was distracted and went through the light, striking a 2003 Dodge driven by Levi Allen Holtry, 27, of New Virginia.

Damage estimates are $3,000 to Patterson’s vehicle and $1,000.

Melissa M. Perez, 17, of Wichita, Kansas, was driving a 2007 Honda north on Interstate 35 when she struck a deer that entered the roadway.
