An employee of Iowa Steel Fabrication, LLC, 1525 E. Eddy Saylor Parkway, reported the theft of a 2007 Chevy Silverado K3500 and chain, shackles, binders and racket straps between 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, and 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, from the business location.

Loss estimate is $12,291.64.

Brady Lee Timothy Shuck, 28, of West Des Moines was charged with assault while displaying a weapon, second-degree theft auto, fifth-degree theft shoplifting, possession of drug paraphernalia, luring, driving while barred, two counts of interference with official acts and two counts of escape 1:18 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, in the 2000 block of 210th Avenue in Van Wert.

According to Osceola Police reports, stole a backpack valued at $24.97 and a Dual DVD Player valued at $147.87 from Wal-Mart. Shuck placed the DVD player into the backpack and then wore the backpack out of the store andleft the Wal-Mart parking lot in a stolen 2008 Pontiac Torrent. This vehicle came back as stolen, and was confirmed to be stolen by Des Moines PD. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle using both lights and sirens but the vehicle failed to stop. Shuck then got onto I 35 southbound and reached speeds of at least 105 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone. During the pursuit, Shuck nearly hit an officer head-on. The pursuit ended when Shuck hit a tree, then fled on foot and was captured by officers a short distance from the vehicle. After his arrest, Shuck gave the officers a false name, later admitting his true identity.

At the time of his arrest, Shuck had a a syringe in his pocket used to inject methamphetamine and a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine in his backpack.

Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

Related to the incident, Ericka Ashley Prothero, 29, of Des Moines was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation for a syringe in her pocket used for injecting methamphetamine.

Prothero’s bond is set at $50.

Brett Alan Sickels, 1009 Park Lane, was charged with assault 11:09 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at his home.

According to Osceola Police reports, Sickels was accused of shoving a housemate during an argument.

Sickels posted $300 cash bond.

An employee of Kading Properties reported vandalism to window screen covers between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, May 29, at a residence on East Logan Street.

Damage estimate is $50.

Conception Montanyo-Garcia (alias: Maria Velasquez), 50, 116 N. Adams St., was charged with identity theft over $10,000 12:17 a.m. Thursday, June 1, at the Law Enforcement Center.

According to an Osceola Police report, Conception Montanyo-Garcia obtained false identification, ID card and SS card, and used this to gain employment. Garcia admitted to obtaining the documents approximately two years ago while in Arizona, coming to Osceola and using someone else’s identity to gain employment at Southern Hills Specialty Care Center.

Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

David Franklin, Robertson, 68, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was charged with first-degree harassment 9:05 p.m. Friday, June 2, at the Osceola depot.

According to an Osceola Police report, Robertson was kicked off of the Amtrack train. Officers were trying to talk to him to make sure he was safe as his demeanor and actions were that of an intoxicated person. He refused to do any type of sobriety testing. He then began to threaten officers and said repeatedly that he was going to take an officer’s weapon and shoot them.

Bond is set at $2,000.

Timothy John Wood, 47, 927 N. Main St., was charged with operating under the influence and driving while revoked 2:08 a.m. Sunday, June 4, on the 100 block of East Webster Street.

According to an Osceola Police report, Wood was stopped driving a 2002 Cadillac for not having any working tail lights on his vehicle. Wood’s arms were shaking, and he had constricted pupils.He was asked to perform field sobriety tests and failed the walk and turn, and the one leg stand. Wood was arrested for driving with a revoked license and taken to the Clarke County Jail. There he consented to testing administered by a drug recognition expert. His performance on those tests led officers to believe he was impaired by an illegal substance.

Wood posted $800 cash bond.

Efrain Enamorado Ayala, 43, 305 S. Adams St., was charged with public intoxication 2:31 a.m. Monday, June 5, in the 300 block of South Adams Street.

According to an Osceola Police report, Ayala walked into a another persons residence without permission at 313 S. Adams and asked for

water. Ayala then left the residence and was approached by officers in the alley in the 300 Blk of S. Adams. Ayala had an odor of alcoholic beverage on

his breath along with bloodshot and watery eyes. Ayala agreed to breath test which indicated he had a blood alcohol of .095%.
