Accidents

No citations were issued after an accident 3:50 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at Casey’s General Store off Main Street.

Leca Ann Pepperdine, 61, of Leon was backing a 2014 Jeep out of a parking space when her vehicle collided with a 2016 Dodge driven by Jose Mauricio Regalado Murillo, 23, of Osceola, that was stopped behind her car while waiting to pull out of the parking lot. Pepperdine was at fault for failing to yield the right of way.

Damage estimates are $200 for Pepperdine’s vehicle and $1,000 for Regalado Murillo’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 5:40 p.m. Friday, June 1, on U.S. Highway 34 at the entrance to East Lake Park.

Deanna Marie Graham-Allen, 51, of Osceola was traveling east on Highway 34 in her 2015 Ford, turned her left blinker on and attempted to turn north into the park. A pickup driving behind her attempted to pass her on the left, striking the front-left of Graham-Allen’s vehicle, and then continued east without stopping.

No injuries were reported.

Damage estimate is $2,000 to Graham-Allen’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 1, on Kelly Lane.

Patricia Jean Bolton, 47, of Osceola was backing a 2011 Honda out of a driveway when she struck a vehicle legally parked on the street.

Damage estimate is $1,000 to Bolton’s vehicle and $3,000 to the unattended vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 6:15 a.m. Friday, June 2, at the 49.5 mile marker on U.S. Highway 69.

Jennifer Rose Dominguez, 23, of Osceola was driving a 2012 Mazda north on Highway 69 when she saw a deer on the shoulder and moved over to avoid hitting it. She struck the deer when it ran in front of her vehicle.

Damage estimate is $1,500.

No citations were issued after an accident 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, on West Jefferson Street.

Theodore Bryan Jacobs, 72, of Livingston, Texas, was driving a 1999 Dodge and fifth-wheel camper under the railroad underpass located at Lincoln and Jefferson. The camper struck the overpass, tearing the A.C unit from the roof and damaging the roof covering of the camper. The unit was backed through the underpass after the tires were deflated. The clearance is marked on both sides of the underpass, but officers did not measure the clearance from the street to the bridge.

Burlington Northern was notified by the Clarke County Sheriff’s Dispatch of the incident.

Damage estimate is $3,000 to the camper and $250 to the bridge.
