No citations were issued after an accident 1:56 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, in the 3200 block of Highway 34. According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Richard Allan Mordock, 54, of Creston was driving a 2007 Dodge west on Highway 34 pulling a trailer loaded with equipment. The driver said something popped in the front of the vehicle and it veered off the road, hitting a raised farm drive and becoming airborne. The vehicle landed on its wheels in the ditch. Damage estimate is $15,000.

Maritz Carmenate Reyes, 45, of Bilbao, Otxarkoaga-Txurdinaga, Spain, was cited for unsafe backing on a highway after an accident 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the intersection of South Fillmore Street and US Highway 34. According to an Osceola Police report, Reyes, driving a 2014 Chevrolet, stopped at a stop on South Fillmore Street. A 2012 Cadillac, driven by Diane Lynn Nish, 48, of Murray, pulled up behind her and stopped. Reyes was afraid she was too far into traffic and backed up, striking Nish’s vehicle. Damage estimate is $1,000 to Reyes’ vehicle and $50 to Nish’s vehicle.
