Father David Polich Osceola

As most people know, the minimum wage in Iowa is $7.25 per hour.  We also know that this is not a wage anyone can live on.

Our newly-minted legislature in Des Moines has decided to tackle this problem.  They want to 1) freeze it at the current level statewide and 2) force four counties who actually care about their working people to roll back the local increases they have voted in.  This comes months after a presidential election campaign which featured a call for more good jobs for Americans.

The Statehouse’s disrespect for public servants and teachers has already been made manifest recently.  Now they are focusing on those even lower on the economic ladder and greasing the rungs.  Are they willing to work for $7.25?
