Trolley driver doing well

A driver for Southern Iowa Trolley (SIT) in Osceola called 911 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, fearful he was having a stroke.

“The drivers, police and ambulance all did a fantastic job that day,” said Transit Director Leesa Lester.

Trolley passengers included children on their way home from school, a point the driver emphasized to the 911 operator. Law enforcement and other trolley personnel quickly transferred the children to another vehicle while the driver received assistance.

“The driver is doing good,” said Lester but could not comment further, citing company privacy policies.

SIT offers a number of transportation options to riders of all ages in Clarke and the surrounding counties.
