Residents dazzled by Holiday Brilliance

Holiday Brilliance 2016 drew an unexpected crowd.

Beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, the festivities kicked off with a vendor fair and scavenger hunt in the Osceola Senior Center and the Christmas Cuties contest 4 p.m. at the bandstand. It culminated in the lighted parade and Santa lighting the courtyard lights around 7 p.m.

Christmas Cuties

This was the first year for the Christmas Cuties contest. There were eight entries. Carly McLain, Fysher Simmons, Trenidee Cox, Shealynn Jones, Jordan Murphy, Madison Horton, Shyenne Steenhoek and Keely McLain all rode along with Santa and Mrs. Claus in the parade.

Lighted parade winners

The best floats for the night came down to the cutest reindeer, Julia and Randy Van Larr; best group, Clarke County Old Iron Club; best overall, Clarke County Veterans; and best theme, The Village.

Window display contest

Flowers ‘N More won first place for the business window display contest . Second place went to Boyt Harness. Third place was won by the courthouse.
