Virgil Williams Osceola

Virgil LeRoy Williams, 92, of Osceola died Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at the funeral home with the Rev. Sheldon Lorenson officiating. Interment will follow in Ottawa Cemetery near Woodburn. Memorial contributions may be directed to HCI Care Services in Osceola or Clarke County Animal Shelter. Virgil LeRoy Williams, son of Owen C. Williams and Lida Mae (Anciaux) Williams, was born July 15, 1924, in Plymouth County.

On Dec. 25, 1948, Virgil married Betty Melinda Heston in Osceola.

Virgil was a farmer. He also worked at Fairfield Engineering, John Deere and Miller Products.

Virgil is survived by his daughter Vickie (Mark) Binning of Osceola; son Donnie (Chris) Williams of Osceola; daughter-in-law Rita Williams of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Christine (Mark) Baker of Ames, Jaime (Eric) Jensen of Des Moines and Scott (Stephanie) Williams of New Virginia; great-grandchildren, Kenny, Max and Isaac Baker, Ethan and Michel Jensen and Owen, Evan, Ian and Elin Williams; sisters-in-law, Joann Williams and Mary Hay, brothers-in-law, Jerry (Trudy) Heston and Ronald Parmer as well as other relatives and many friends.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Lida Williams; wife Betty Williams; infant son Steven; son Virgil “Will” Williams; brother Wayne Williams; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rolland and Bessie Heston; brothers-in-law, Everett Heston, John Toney, Bill Vandermay, Perry Winn, Glen Hay, Dean (Deloris) Winn, Allen (Wilma) Heston, Dean Butler and Tom Wall and sisters-in-law, Iona Toney Vandermay, JoAnn Parmer and Jeanie Butler Wall.
