New pastor at Grace Bible Church

There is a new pastor at Grace Bible Church. Pastor Chuck Myer was born in Des Moines in 1947. He graduated from high school in 1966. From 1964 to 1970, he served in the U.S. Navy. He had a successful career until the age of 32, when he came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Myer went on to earn his degree in Bible studies from Liberty Bible Institute, out of Lynchburg, Virginia. He served as pastor of Grace Bible Church in Osceola from 1998 to 2006.

His wife, Kathy, was born in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from high school in 1970. She attended community college and went on to earn two degrees from Illinois State University, one in teaching and the other in special education.

They have been married for 38 years and have two daughters — both Kristy and Reagan are married and reside in Kansas City, Missouri. The Myers have five grandchildren.

Chuck, Kathy and their daughters served as missionaries to the U.S. military from 1986 to 1989, being home based in Panama.

They have lived in the Des Moines area for approximately 25 years and will be relocating to Osceola upon finding housing. As of Aug. 7, Chuck will be taking on the pastoral duties at Grace Bible Church, located at 410 N. Dewey St.

All are welcome to come and join them as they apply themselves to the study of the Bible.

Sunday school is at 9 a.m. and worship service is at 10 a.m. The church phone number is 641-781-8890.
