Murray blood drive planned

MURRAY — As school gets back in session and summer comes to an end, LifeServe Blood Center is urging eligible students and other blood donors to get back in the swing of donating blood.

More than 3,000 units of blood are needed each week in order for LifeServe Blood Center to meet the needs of its more than 120 hospital partners in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Be the lifesaving link. Schedule an appointment at an upcoming blood drive in your community.

Murray Community Blood Drive is planned Thursday, Sept. 1, from 3-7 p.m. at Murray Community Center, 416 Maple St.

Schedule a blood donation appointment online at lifeservebloodcenter.org or call 800-287-4903.

LifeServe Blood Center was established in April 2010 when The Blood Center of Iowa joined operations with Siouxland Community Blood Bank.

As one of the 15 largest blood centers in the country, LifeServe Blood Center provides blood and blood products to more than 100 hospitals located across Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.
