Carolyn “Katie” Howard Jordan

Carolyn “Katie” Howard Jordan, 86, of Leon died July 20, 2016, at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon.

Katie donated her body to Des Moines University. There are no services scheduled at this time. Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr is assisting Katie's family, and online condolences may be left at www.armstrongfh.com.

Katie, daughter of Frank and Margaret (Tappan) Howard, was born January 13, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois.

Katie graduated from high school and attended college before becoming a mother to Michael, Rex, Terri, Mark and Denise with her first husband. Katie later married Cyrus Jordan. They lived in various communities all over the country as they raised their children.

Katie came to know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and her life was forever changed into a witness for Him. Katie had a passion for telling others about Jesus, praying continuously for everyone and believing by faith when God spoke to her. She led her family to Christ and even to the end of her days on Earth, she would witness to all she met.

When Cyrus Jordan died July 18, 2013, Katie moved to Iowa to live with her only living daughter, Terri, and Terri’s husband, Dennis Goodman.

Katie is survived by her children, Rex Jordan, Terri Goodman and Mark Jordan; grandchildren, Jennifer H. Cole, Christopher Mann, Charley Mann, TJ Mann, Mark Mann, Eric Jordan, Viktor Jordan, Nikki Correll and Laura Tomlinson; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Madison, Jacoby, Kiera, Bentley, Zachary, Avery, Easton, Aurora, Scarlett, Walker, Madison, Allyson, Nathan, Lincoln and MarLeigh Rhae.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, “Bud;” husband; and children, Mike Mann and Denise Marie Mann.
