Adrian Fuller Osceola

Adrian Theadore Fuller, 96, of Osceola died Monday, July 4, 2016, at Homestead Assisted Living in Osceola.

Services were 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola with the Rev. Tom Murr and the Rev. Julie Poore officiating. Visitation with family present was from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at the funeral home. Interment followed in Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites presented by Herndon-Oehlert American Legion Post No. 157, Davis-Pence Post No. 69 and Military Funeral Honors detail from Camp Dodge. Adrian Theadore Fuller, son of Thomas Gilbert Fuller and Mary Elizabeth (Poil) Fuller, was born Jan. 31, 1920, in Murray. Adrian received his education in Clarke County and proudly served his country during World War II with the 1881st Army Aviation Engineers Battalion, where he attained the rank of Tech 5 and earned two Bronze Stars for the seven invasions he was involved with in the Pacific Theatre.

On Dec. 26, 1945, he married Irene Winona Kepple at the Osceola Methodist Church parsonage. Soon after their marriage, they moved to a farm near Lacelle where they lived and worked until 1979, when they moved to their home in Osceola.

Adrian was the president of RC&D in Creston from 1979-98, president of Clarke County Historical Society from 1980-96, Woodburn Legion Co-Commander and member for 13 years, Southern Iowa Council of Governments for 12 years, Soil and Water Commission since 1955, Lacelle Church Sunday school teacher and treasurer for many years, president of Southern Iowa Boosters of Creston, former president of Osceola Rotary Club, Osceola United Methodist Church and Woodburn Methodist Church.

Adrian is survived by his daughter Susan Ann Muller of Osceola; son Teddy Allen (Lucyluz) Fuller of Ainsworth; daughter Kathleen Diane (Steve) Cole of Clive; daughter Mary Elizabeth (Pat) Conway of Ft. Collins, Colorado; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie (Bob) Stebbins of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Helen Kirfman of Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Adrian was preceded in death by his parents; wife Irene Winona Fuller; infant daughter Nancy Lee Fuller; brothers, Marvin Fuller, Raymond Fuller and Rolland Fuller; sister Louise Brand; brothers-in-law, Jack Kirfman and Asher Brand and sisters-in-law, Wilma and Ruth Fuller.
