Accident

An accident was reported 3:17 p.m. May 6 in the 2400 block of 250th Avenue.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Keven Allen Fee, 24, of Chariton, driving a 1994 Ford Ranger north on 250th Avenue, lost control of the vehicle at a crest of a hill because of loose gravel.

Fee overcorrected the vehicle and fish-tailed, which caused the left side of the vehicle to hit a culvert. This action caused the vehicle to roll approximately three times before it came to a stop on its wheels. The vehicle also went through a fence, which Fee said he would fix.

Damage estimate is $1,400.

An accident was reported 5:50 a.m. May 6 at the intersection of 120th Avenue and Highway 34.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Carlos Tamayo-Rujano, 50, of Osceola, driving a 2009 Chevrolet pickup west on Highway 34, struck a deer.

Damage estimate is $2,500.

An accident was reported 12:06 a.m. May 13 in the 2500 block of Highway 69.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Samuel Wayne Phillips, 19, of Leon, driving a 2002 Ford north on Highway 69, struck a deer. The pickup entered the east ditch and struck a fence owned by Rick Oshel.

Damage estimate is $4,000.

An accident was reported 4:40 p.m. May 13 in the 2200 block of 210th Avenue.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Terrell Adolph Taylor, 57, of Weldon, driving a 2014 Indian Chieftain motorcycle north on 210th Avenue, struck a patch of mud in the road. The front tire slid sideways, which caused the motorcycle to loose traction and fall on its side.

The female passenger was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle continued onto its other side and the male passenger was thrown from the it. Neither passenger was injured and refused medical treatment at the scene.

Damage estimate is $5,000.
