Raymond Pollard Woodburn

Raymond Dean Pollard, 75, of Woodward died Saturday, May 7, 2016, at VA Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola, with the Rev. Reinhold Kunze, deacon of St. Brendan's Catholic Church officiating. Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola. Raymond Dean Pollard, son of Joseph Clayton Pollard and Beulah Mae (Woods) Pollard, was born Sept. 24, 1940, in Iowa City. Raymond graduated from Osceola High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963.

On Nov. 30, 1963, Raymond married Susan Jane Leeka in Osceola.

Raymond farmed all his life and also worked for Regal Stamp and built homes for several years. He was a member of Herndon-Oehlert Post No. 157 of the American Legion.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan Pollard of Woodburn; children Jeff (Bev) Pollard of Woodburn, Dorothy (Jim) Powers of Upton, Massachusetts, Sandy (Paul ) Edgar of Woodburn, Tim (Julie) Pollard of Woodburn and Brian (Kim) Pollard of Woodburn; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tony) Miler, Jaime (Trevor) White, Kristin Pollard, Mollie Powers, Caleb Powers, Logan (Kacey) Edgar, Jacqueline Edgar, Nathan Edgar, Hannah Pollard, Haley Pollard, Katelyn Pollard and Braydon Pollard, great-grandchildren, Emma White and Connor White, brothers, Ronnie (Evelyn) Pollard of Chariton, Steve (Debbie) Pollard of Russell and Tom Pollard of Marion; sister Beverly Dixon of Lucas and other relatives and many friends.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Beulah Pollard and sister-in-law Suzanne Pollard.
