Ronald Braby Osceola

Ronald Eugene Braby, 65, of Osceola died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at his home.

Memorial services were held 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at Slade-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 103 N.E. Mill St., in Leon with the Rev. Brian Hardee officiating. Burial was in Garden Grove Cemetery in Garden Grove.

Ronald Eugene Braby, son of Glen Eugene and Roberta Glee (McCullough) Braby, was born Oct. 4, 1950, in Leon. Ronnie became deaf as an infant. When the family lived in Oakland, California, Ronnie attended regular school. After moving back to Iowa, he started junior high school at the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs and graduated in 1970. He worked for Goodwill Industries. Later, he occupied his days with volunteer work. He blew the noon whistle for Garden Grove and helped Iowa Southern Trolley and Department of Motor Vehicles when they were in Leon.

Ronnie was baptized into Independent Bible Church of Leon on May 29, 1983.

Ronnie is survived by his brother Rus (Kim) Braby of Osceola; sister Sherry (Rick) Burke of Osceola; niece Lori (Ach) Bleakley of Wichita, Kansas; great-nephews, Jamie Wilkinson and Achie Bleakley of Wichita, Kansas; great-niece Kimmie Bleakley of Wichita, Kansas; niece Rylie Burke of Osceola; many additional family members and many friends he thought of as family.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; other family members and friends.
