Clarke County Hospital receives highest national quality ranking

iVantage, the company that performs analytics for the National Rural Healthcare Association, has rated Clarke County Hospital (CCH) through the overall Hospital Strength INDEX, as one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals for 2016.

The Hospital Strength INDEX compares over seventy publicly reported metrics from 2,078 rural hospitals across the United States. This is the third year in a row that CCH has earned this distinction.

“Clarke County Hospital takes pride in their commitment to make sure that our patients, families and friends within the community receive the highest quality of care,” said Melanie Boyd, patient experience officer at CCH.

The overall Hospital Strength INDEX is broken down into nine categories ranking risk, value and performance.

The index measures Critical Access Hospitals across 62 performance metrics, including quality, outcomes, patient perspective, affordability, population risk and efficiency.

Clarke County Hospital rated the strongest in the patient outcome pillar, where the hospital earned a ranking at the 94.4 percentile; in the patient perception pillar, where they earned a ranking at the 99.8 percentile; and the quality pillar where CCH earned a ranking at the 100.0 percentile.

Based on data that is publicly reported related to heart attacks; heart failure, pneumonia; outpatient; and surgical care improvement process, Clarke County Hospital received the highest percentile ranking of all 2,078 rural hospitals in the United States.

On Monday, March 28, the Clarke County Hospital administrative team commemorated the news by serving a celebratory lunch for the entire CCH staff.

“I am extremely proud of our staff; they work so hard to provide the very best care to every patient and this recognition acknowledges the efforts they put forth each and every day,” said Brian Evans, Clarke County Hospital chief executive officer.
