Norma Estell Osceola

Norma Estell, 88, of Osceola died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Al Adams officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to First Christian Church in Osceola. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.

Norma Irene Estell, daughter of Oscar Weaklend and Olive (Carson) Weaklend was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Clarke County.

Norma grew up in Clarke County and attended country schools. She graduated from Osceola High School.

On June 3, 1949, Norma married Phillip Jerome Estell in Osceola.

Norma has lived the past 70 some years in Osceola prior to moving to Urbandale to live with her daughter the past several months. She was a member of First Christian Church, CWF and Women’s Birthday Club in Osceola. She was a cook at Clarke Community Elementary School for many years.

Norma is survived by her son Gene (Alberta) Estell of Altoona; daughter Jennefer (David) Julson of Urbandale; daughter-in-law Daina Estell of Creston; grandchildren, Christopher (Amy) Estell of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Amy Ann (Matthew) Ruble of Des Moines, Tara (Landon) Hendrick of Broomfield, Colorado, Davy (Krystal) Estell of Creston, Chelsey Estell of Creston, Briann Estell of Creston; great-grandchildren, Magdalynn Ann Ruble, Isaac Estell, Aaron Estell, Anna Estell, Emma Estell and Evan Estell; sister, Wilda McCann of Osceola and other relatives and many friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Phillip and son Todd Lane Estell.
