Osceola Rotary helps with coats for children in need

Through local contributions and a Rotary International grant, Osceola Rotary has been able to purchase 138 coats for children in need in Clarke County.

Rotary President Alan Elefson said, “The smaller amount of coats purchased last year went quickly, so through a Rotary International grant we were able to triple the number of coats provided to the community.”

The coats will be distributed through the “Toys for Christmas” program.

Janie Hatfield with South Central Iowa Community Action Agency expressed appreciation for the donation.

“We quickly used all the coats donated last year and there will be a need for all the coats donated this year,” Hatfield said.
