CCH hosts vascular screening event

Clarke County Hospital is hosting a vascular screening event Saturday, Oct. 24.

Have you been diagnosed with any of the following conditions: diabetes or pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), coronary artery disease, or carotid artery disease?

If you are over the age of 45, have a family history of heart disease or stroke, smoke often, have high blood pressure, or answered yes to any of the previous questions, you could qualify for this free screening.

“The vascular screening event at Clarke County Hospital allows patients who meet the screening requirements the opportunity to receive a detailed evaluation on any vascular symptoms, conditions or concerns at no cost to them. Family and friends of loved ones who exhibit symptoms related to heart disease or stroke should encourage their family members to apply,” said Jessica Ritchie, diagnostic imaging tech at Clarke County Hospital.

Applicants selected and scheduled for this screening will receive a variety of resources and detailed information tailored to their assessment to help support their path to a healthier and happier quality of life.

To be considered for this screening, contact Clarke County Hospital at 641-342-5487 for more information. Clarke County Hospital encourages interested participants to fill out the hospital’s vascular screening form, now available at Medicap Pharmacy, Hy-Vee Pharmacy, UnityPoint Clinic and Clarke County Hospital.

Completed forms should be returned to the hospital registration area no later than Monday, Oct. 12. Applicants chosen for this screening are selected by level of risk and will be contacted by Clarke County Hospital to schedule an official appointment. This screening is at no cost to participants.
