Survey results from CDG open house

Visitors to the annual Community Diversity Gardens open house June 25 had an opportunity to participate in a survey.

There were six stations with different types of gardening visitors could determine if they would be interested in trying for themselves. There were approximately 50 people in attendance.

Following is the results of the survey: Accessible gardening (made for easy access by Kyle Haltom) 12 said yes and no one said no; Aronia berries (known for their extremely high health benefits) 10 said yes and 11 said no; straw bale gardening (planting in straw bales for small space issues) 20 said yes and four said no; container gardening (using pots to grow vegetables) 14 said yes and three said no; vine tunnel (mostly used for vining plants) eight said yes and eight said no; gutter gardening (for shallow rooted plants and space saver) 11 said yes and four said no.

All these styles of gardening opens opportunities for growing one’s own food during the summer months.
