Ritchey, Carman promoted at American State Bank

American State Bank announces Matt Ritchey has been promoted to senior vice president, chief credit officer, for the bank.

Ritchey grew up on a local dairy farm where he continues to be active and involved in the family farm. He graduated from Interstate 35 High School and attended Simpson College, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and business administration while participating as a double sport varsity athlete in baseball and football. He spent eight years in accounting audit before joining the bank two years ago.

Ritchey and his wife Kelsey reside in New Virginia and have one child, Owen.

American State Bank also announced Robert Carman being hired as vice president of lending. Carman will be working as a loan officer out of the Winterset office, specializing in agricultural and commercial loan relationships. The position is an addition to the Winterset staff supporting the growth of the branch.

Carman grew up near Jefferson and has extensive experience in agriculture, owning a custom livestock vaccination service while attending college. He is a graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and joins the bank with five years of credit analyst experience.

American State Bank has locations in Osceola, Lamoni and Winterset.
