Clark Geddes Osceola

Clark Gamble Geddes, 87, of Osceola died July 18, 2015, at Southern Hills Specialty Care.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 22, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. The Rev. Larry Matson officiated. Interment will be in the Farrar Cemetery at a later date. Clark Geddes, son of Ronald Gamble Geddes and Sarah Elizabeth (Leonard) Geddes, was born Nov. 6, 1927 in Farrar.

He received his education at Farrar High School and graduated in 1945.  Following graduation, Clark enlisted in the United Sates Marine Corps and served for 15 months during the Korean Conflict and eight years with the Marine Corps Reserves.

On Sept. 5, 1953, he married Dixie Irene Stebbins at Farrar Methodist Church.

Clark worked at Armstrong Tire in Des Moines for over 32 years.  He also farmed and raised cattle and was a member of various cattlemen associations.

Clark is survived by his wife Dixie Irene Geddes of Osceola; sons, David (Christine) Geddes of Truro, Joe (Susan) Geddes of Indianola, Mark (LuAnn) Geddes of Kelley, Charles (Melody) Geddes of Kansas City, Mo. and John (Angeleen) Geddes of Osceola; brothers, John Geddes of Altoona and  Ronald James (Marlene) Geddes of Clark, Mo.; grandchildren, Amanda Geddes, Mary Geddes, Justina Geddes, Sarah Geddes, Heather Geddes, Jonathan Geddes, all of Truro; Victoria (Shane) Stephenson of Anchorage, Alaska, Jennifer Geddes of Ames, Evan Geddes of Indianola, Robert Geddes, Benjamin Geddes, Kenneth Geddes, MaKay Geddes, all of Kelley, Andrew Geddes, Kelsey Geddes, Shannon Geddes, Mariah Geddes, all of Kansas City, Mo., and Caleb Geddes and  Emily Geddes of Osceola, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Clark was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Lester Stebbins and mother-in-law Virginia Stebbins; and sister-in-law Ellen Geddes.
