Everett Bierce Osceola

Everett Bierce, 82, of Osceola died Jan. 1, 2015, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.

Services were 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at Murray Church of Christ. The Rev. Brian McCracken and the Rev. Marty Burgus officiated. Interment was in Murray Cemetery. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Everett James Bierce, son of Mildred (Daub) and Gayle Bierce, was born July 5, 1932, in Clarke County.

Everett has spent his life in the Murray area. He graduated from Murray High School.

On March 30, 1952, Everett married Evelyn Dady in Creston.

Everett worked for the railroad and farmed. He had a plumbing business for several years.

He was a long time member of Murray Church of Christ having served as an elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a 4-H leader and co-founder of Triple Troopers 4-H Club. He was a charter member of Murray Development Board.

Everett is survived by his wife Evelyn Bierce of Murray; children, David Bierce of Holman, Wis., Cindia Decker of Murray and Doug Bierce of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Bob (Donna) Decker, Mary (Jeff) Miller, David (Jennifer) Decker, David Allen (Sara) Bierce, Anna Bierce, Jeffery Parker, Robert (Anesya) Bierce, Natalie (Steve) McGavock and Michael Bierce; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred (Tom) O’Neal of Murray, Bonnie Adams of Lorimor, Carolee (Gerald) Brown of Lafayette, Colo., and Sharon (Ed) Garity of Indianola; and brother Larry Bierce of Omaha, Neb.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dale and Clayton Bierce; sister Marilyn German; daughter-in-law Diane Bierce; and son-in-law Bill Decker.
