Ruby Blanchard Osceola

Ruby Blanchard, 88, of Osceola died Dec. 14, 2014, at Southern Hills Specialty Care.

Graveside services were 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at Maple Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Al Adams officiated. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Ruby Lea Blanchard, daughter of Mary Attie (Caviness) and Clell Howard Heston, was born Aug. 19, 1926, at the family home near Woodburn.

On April 23, 1943, Ruby married Virgil Clarence Blanchard in Osceola.

Ruby worked as a cook for more than 13 years at Clarke Community Schools and had also helped her husband on the farm prior to moving to Osceola in 1959.

Ruby is survived by her daughters, Janice (Francis) Brown, Bonnie Smith and Karon (Gary) Toney, all of Osceola; sons, Clifford (Sandy) Blanchard of Rockledge, Fla., and Mike (Kelly) Blanchard of Osceola; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Alan Luce Blanchard; grandchildren, Darin and Jeff Brown; great-grandchildren, Ryan D. Jones Jr. and Shelby Jones; brothers, Glen, Gerald and Paul Heston; and sisters, Viola Kinney, Ruth Goering, and Mona Anderson.
