The truth about Supervisor Myron Manley

Supervisor Manley was defeated in the 2014 primary election by a 2 to 1 margin by his own Republican party. He has now obtained 19 signatures of eligible voters so he can again run for supervisor.

Supervisor Manley submitted mileage from Jan. 1, 2013, to Oct. 31 in the amount of $6,572.63 compared to Supervisor Keller $1,350 and Supervisor McCann $3,553.70.

Mileage claims included complaints, weeds, R-15 (road), banquets, and three trips to Woodburn in one day.

Don’t we pay the weed commissioner, secondary roads supervisor, county engineer and law enforcement to check complaints? Should taxpayers pay for Supervisor Manley to attend banquets? Supervisor Manley has an annual salary that includes public service, where is his public service to the taxpayers of Clarke County?

Supervisor Manley on Dec. 17, 2012, was the only supervisor who voted against Clarke County Resolution 12-233, support for the water supply project, which was a guaranteed $13 million towards the total revenue bonding for our lake. Will someone tell supervisor Manley that our community needs an adequate water supply?

You have the opportunity to vote for the Clarke County District 1 Supervisor 2014 primary winner Bill Black or re-elect Manley on Nov. 4, 2014. Please vote responsibly.
