Baker honored for 50 years of banking service

JOHNSTON – Ken Baker, former Osceola resident and longtime Clarke County State Bank president and recently retired President and Director of Panora State Bank, was honored by the Iowa Bankers Association (IBA) for more than 50 years of service as a banker.

The award was presented to Ken Baker during the IBA’s annual convention on September 23, 2014, in Des Moines. Baker was one of 13 individuals recognized for reaching the 50-year milestone.

“Iowa banks have been a trusted resource for Iowans for more than 125 years. We are honored to have the commitment and experience of bankers like Ken Baker, who have worked to provide valuable service to Iowa bank customers and their communities for more than half a century,” said IBA President and Chief Executive Officer John Sorensen.

Baker served five different Iowa communities during his 50 years of banking and was always an active community developer throughout his career. He was always happiest when he was helping his bank’s customers and the community in which he lived.

Baker has enjoyed getting to know wonderful bank customers and growing with them as they succeeded in their own jobs, finances and businesses.

Baker and his wife Pat have recently retired to Waukee.

The Iowa Bankers Association represents Iowa’s 341 banks and savings institutions. Iowa bankers are committed to the Iowa values of honesty, hard work and community service, and have been a trusted resource for Iowans for more than 125 years.
